1. Open a pdf document that requires a signature.
2. Click on the **Fill & Sign** tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.

- Must create a digital certificate via the Foxit PDF Editor program

1. Open a pdf document that requires a signature.
2. Click on the **Protect** tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.

  1. It is recommended to use Foxit PDF Editor in a maximized window, so you can see all icons in the ribbon.
  2. If you do not see the label **Sign & Certify**, look for the icon instead.
4. The cursor has now become a crosshair, and you may now highlight where you would like the digital signature to be placed.
5. Choose a digital signature you would like to use from the drop-down menu.  If you do not have one saved, you may create it here by clicking on **New ID** in the **Sign** as drop-down menu.
  1. If you chose the **New PKCS#12 digital ID file**, you will be prompted to create a password, and enter it prior to applying it.
  2. If you chose **Windows Certificate Store**, it would save your digital signature and you will be able to apply it across different Microsoft products.
  3. Once the signature has been applied, make sure to save the new signed document.
