Instructors can assign students to an entire module or individual items within a module from the Modules page.

- If a student is assigned only a specific item within a module, they will see that item in its corresponding feature area (e.g., an assignment on the Assignments page) but not the rest of the module.
- If a student is assigned an entire module but only certain items within it, they will only be able to view the assigned items.

### **Get Started**

1. Open Modules by clicking the **Modules** link in the Course Navigation menu.

2. Choose which module and click the **Options** icon (3 vertical dots) next to the module name. Then, click **Assign To…**

3. By default, modules are assigned to everyone. Toggle the Set Visibility option to **Assign To**. Then, choose either a course section or an individual student.

4. You can also remove a student or a section by clicking the **Remove** icon or by clicking the **Clear All** link.

5. Once you have set the visibility, click **Save**.

### Assign Activities to Specific Students

The **Assign To** button is also available at the top of all learning activities, including Assignment, Discussion, Page and Quiz. To enable this feature directly on a learning activity, follow the steps below:

1. Navigate to the learning activity, then click **Assign To** on the right of the **Published** button. This will open the Assign To tray on the right side of the screen.

2. The Assign To tray provides the same functions and settings available on the activity's edit page. These settings can be configured as outlined in the 'How to Assign Modules to Specific Students' section above.
3. Once configured, click **Apply** to save the assignment details.
