You may present slides, annotate content in real time, solve equations, highlight key concepts or create walkthrough tutorials while maintaining direct eye contact with the camera~~.~~  This space is ideal for faculty lectures, research explanations, training videos and instructional demonstrations. ### **Before You Begin**  - Prepare slides or materials you plan to display. Press the circular **On** button located on the right side of the lightboard frame. 2. Studio lighting, monitors and equipment will power on automatically. Please allow a few moments for everything to become operational. 3. If recording, switch on the exterior “On Air” indicator near the door.   ### **Step 2: Log In**  1. Log in to the studio PC using your University credentials. 2. Tap the **Cursor** button on the tablet. 2. This exits pen mode and restores mouse/keyboard control.  If the mouse is not responding, you are likely still in pen mode.  ###  **Select what to Record**  You can select to record screen only or camera and screen. Screen only can be used if you only want to record on screen and drawing content. This is good for process/walkthrough videos without an on-camera presenter. ### **Step 4: Insert Your USB Drive**  The Lightboard Studio includes a USB drive for shared use; however, bringing your own drive is recommended.   1. Insert a USB drive into the port labeled **Record USB**. 2. Confirm that it is fully inserted before beginning.  The system will not be able to record unless a USB drive is inserted. ### **Step 5: Start Recording**  Switch the ceiling light switch **off **(next to the entry door), if it’s not already off. Turn **on** the exterior “On Air” indicator (located next to the light switch).  1. Press the large **Record** button on the control panel. 2. Confirm that recording has begun. 3. Deliver your presentation. ### **Step 7: Review and Save Your Recording**  To review in the studio:  1. Insert the USB into the **Computer USB** port. 2. This opens the recorded folder. 3. Review your footage. You may also plug the USB drive into your personal computer.  > ℹ️ Because you are logged in with your University credentials, you may upload your file directly to:  > ℹ️ > ℹ️ - OneDrive > ℹ️ - SharePoint > ℹ️ > ℹ️ All users are strongly encouraged to back up recordings immediately. ### **After You Finish**  To ensure the room is reset for the next user, please do the following:  1. Log out of the studio computer. 2. Turn **off** the exterior “On Air” indicator, if used. 3. Press the circular **Off** button to power down equipment. 4. Switch the ceiling light switch back **on**. ### **Best Practices**  - Wear solid colors; avoid tight patterns. - Stand centered within the lightboard frame. - Maintain eye contact through the glass toward the camera. - Write clearly and deliberately. - Pause briefly before and after key explanations.
Troubleshooting **Mouse not working**  - Tap **Cursor** on the tablet to exit drawing mode. **Cannot draw**  - Select a color tile to activate pen mode. **Recording will not start**  - Confirm USB drive is inserted into the Record USB port. **Annotations not visible**  - Ensure you are drawing directly on the lightboard surface, not on a flex monitor.
